Donate

We are now accepting donations!

If you have books, CDs, or DVDs in good condition that you no longer want, please consider donating them to the Friends for resale in the bookstore. It's a great way to clean out your house and support the Library at the same time.

We welcome donations in good condition of:

  • books for adults, teens, and children
  • books on CD
  • music on CD
  • DVDs, computer & video games

We do not accept:

  • magazines
  • outdated reference material such as old encyclopedias
  • Reader's Digest condensed books
  • textbooks
  • books on cassette
  • music on cassette or LP
  • VHS videos

On Monday to Friday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., bring your donations to the Shipping & Receiving entrance at the back of the Main Library on Spear Street. Ring the bell for admittance.

If you would like to drop off materials after 5:00 p.m., call 617-376-1300 x2 to arrange a drop-off time. You may also drop off donations at the bookstore during regular open hours (Thursdays 6-8 and Saturdays 10-4).
